10 Things you should know about SPF

1. SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor
2. There are two ways SPF works:
A) Block
B) Absorb
**For best results, get a sun screen that does both**
3.You should be using a shot glass full of sun screen for your body at least 20 minutes before sun exposure. (Cream base)
4. You should re-apply your sunscreen every 2-3 hours as directed on the bottle. (You can use spray to re-apply)
5. Using just a spray of sunscreen (and no cream sunscreen), will not give you enough protection. If you get a spray of SPF 30 in a spray can, and don't apply a cream sunscreen before, after all the math, you are only getting an SPF of maybe 2.
6. For your cream sunscreen, grab a minimum of SPF 30. (any less, and it's not giving you any protection)
7. Opt for higher SPF's like 50+ for your spray can.
8. ALWAYS apply sunscreen under your foundation! (SPF in foundation is irrelevant)
9. Re-apply your sunscreen after water activities and sweating.
10. Even though sunscreen helps protect you from the sun, the best way to protect yourself is to cover up, so go get that really cute sun hat and beach cover up!

Happy Beaching!
