14 Self Love Activities For The Month Of February
Happy Love Month! π
February can be a tough month weather wise and it usually impacts those of us that suffer from seasonal affective disorder which is why I have decided to compile a list of self love activities this month.
The month of Love isn’t ONLY for others. So don’t forget to love yourself while you’re showing love to others. Here’s a few ideas to get you started on your self love journey:
1 Have a nice bubble bath. π
Pull out your luxurious bubble bath, make sure there’s LOTS of bubbles, add a few drops of ylang ylang essential oil (which helps promote self love), light some tea light candles OR make sure your flameless candles are charged to have that relaxing spa atmosphere, grab a self care book or even just your current read, have your phone in the background playing relaxing music OR you can listen to the self love playlist I created Here. You can enhance the self love vibes by placing a rose quartz stone on the side of the tub on the ledge as well since rose quartz is known as the crystal of unconditional love.
2 Have a photoshoot. πΈ
I recommend boudoir specifically for the self love aspect. I think EVERYONE should do a boudoir shoot. What a way to feel FABULOUS about yourself. Whether that’s some outdoor time shovelling, walking your dog, or doing an actual workout program. I workout with Kira Stokes through her app which you can access for 7 days free and then you can pay monthly or yearly. Linked here.4 Show yourself some love by writing yourself a love letter. π
List all of the things you love about yourself, things you’ve accomplished and are proud of yourself for, etc. Decorate it with hearts and stickers and a nice red or pink envelope and MAIL it. Trust me, it’s worth the couple cents a stamp costs, so that one day when you get home from work you have a beautifully decorated love letter to read.5 Get yourself some flowers. π
Display them where you will see them the most. These can be your favourite real flowers if they’re in season OR you can buy your favourite artificial flowers from a craft store or dollar store. You can keep them out all year or you can pack them away for next February. (Don’t forget DIYs! If your budget is tight, you can make paper flowers or you can even find a smartphone wallpaper of your favourite flowers to use as your Lock Screen).
6 Do a face mask. π§π»♀️
Whether you’re digging out some face mask products you used to love, have yet to use or you’re purchasing yourself brand new ones, an at home facial is a cost effective way to love yourself AND treat any skin issues you’re struggling with. Make sure to check any expiration dates if you are digging in the cupboard though. You don’t want to have a reaction.
7 Do a Valentines craft. π
Whether this is buying a box of valentines cards like when you were a kid in school and delivering them to your family and friends OR doing a DIY craft like maybe some sort of crafting you like. Whether that’s sewing, crocheting, beading, hot glue gun work, anything that YOU enjoy. Make it love themed.
8 Cook yourself your favourite meal. π₯
This can be your favourite meal your mom used to cook when you were little or it can be your current favourite meal but COOK yourself your FAVOURITE meal. Even if that means pancakes for supper.
9 Try a guided meditation. π§♀️
This helps calm nerves, promote mindfulness and shows your brain you love it. I recommend headspace but there are PLENTY of FREE guided meditations on YouTube. You can even find one that is specific to self love.
10 Clean your space. π§Ή
Having a clean space helps you feel better mentally. It’s proven. Your surroundings are a reflection of your feelings and vice versa. You don’t need to clean your entire house in one day (unless you want to) but it can be as simple as doing one thing a day. For example- Monday- dusting Tuesday- vacuuming Wednesday- glass Thursday- bathrooms Friday- laundry. It can be simple or it can be intense. You are worth living in a clean space.
12 Purchase or make yourself something to wearπ
You can crochet yourself a winter toque, buy a new perfume (even if it’s mini, EVEN if it’s just a free sample), bead yourself a bracelet. But get something for yourself to wear. As small as a free perfume sample or as big as a new tattoo or piercing. Whatever your budget allows
13 π± find some quotes online that you can screen shot and have in your favourites album to refer to later if you’re struggling.
My go to for quotes is Pinterest. You can find my favs on my profile. I save quotes about self love, anxiety, mental health, fitness. Anything I like or find motivating basically.
14 Invest in yourself. ππ»♀️
