Dog Friendly Summer Activities


Hello, hello! 

I am back to blogging. It’s been awhile but I missed it and have now changed my focus from only beauty related to anything and everything that I love. ESPECIALLY my dog Rex!

So let’s get into the actual blog…

Dog friendly summer activities





Kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing 

(strong, tear resistant inflatable or plastic) 

-Make sure to have a Pet life jacket

-Don’t have your dog tied to a leash for safety reasons but have one on hand for when you’re on land 

-If it’s your dogs first time on the water make sure not to stray too far from the land 





Dog park exploring 

-Make a list and check off each dog park in your city 

-Have water (here’s our favourite dog Water bottle)

-Make sure it’s not too hot 

-Dog poop bags!





Beach day 

(check out Rexs beach day on our YouTube Channel

-Water 

-Snacks

-Make sure it’s not too hot

-Toy(s) that float!

-Life jacket 

-Water proof leash





Your city activities

 (pets in the park, dog day of summer, muddy buddy 5k, the fringe festival)

-Sign up, attend and support shelters 

-Bring water

- Bring dog Poop bags





Back yard Pool

-Fill up Pool with hose 

-Throw a floating or a water friendly wind up toy





Obstacle course 

-Book a time in your city 

-Set one up in your back yard with random items







Garage sailing 

-Make sure it’s not too hot 

-Make sure to keep your distance from anyone who is scared of dogs 

-Bring water 





Play at the playground

-Teach your dog how to go down the slides 

-Make an obstacle course for your dog on the playground 





Visit your neighbourhoods little library 

-Bring water 

-Bring a back pack 

-Bring some books to donate and swap







Practice training (tricks and agility)

-Attend an obedience class 





Shopping spree at pet friendly stores 

PetSmart

Petland

Critters

PetValu 

Cow town

Pet planet 

Earlys garden Center 

Etc 





Spray park

Make sure there’s no kids there or at the very least no kids that are scared of dogs





Running 

-Have water 

-Make sure not too hot 

-Poop bags





Biking

-Have water 

-Poop bags

-If a long ride, have a pet bicycle trailer/ carraige





Rollerblading 

If you struggle with balance make sure your dogs leash is attached to a harness and not a collar






Hiking 

-Do a set trail

-Make sure to bring lots of water 

-And plan ahead for weather conditions (if it’s too hot, reschedule)

-track it using apps like WoofTrax or ResQWalk to help support shelters just by walking 





Go for patio drinks 

(Breweries can be dog-friendly outdoors)

-Crossmount cider is dog friendly 

-Prairie sun brewery is dog friendly on Sundays 

*Even if you can’t find a dog friendly retaraunt, you can take your pup through a drive through like DQ and then sit outside in their patio area*





Speaking of drive thrus, why not take your pup to a Drive-in movie (don’t give your dog popcorn, make sure to pack water, poop bags and pet snacks)





Camping

Tent, camper or cabin(make sure cabin is dog friendly) 





Pup scouts 

Is exactly what it sounds like. You can sign up and participate online if there’s not a meeting location in or near your area.
